The Butterfly Cipher -- Let Chaos Keep Your Secrets Safe, New Scientist
Excerpts: However, no one is yet claiming that chaotic encryption will necessarily spell the end for its quantum-based cousin. Quantum cryptography is inherently secure because quantum states are so delicate that any attempt to listen in disrupts the message, alerting both sender and receiver. While chaotic cryptography can provide impressive levels of security, it does not have the same built-in resistance to eavesdroppers. Typically, the message is injected into the chaotic carrier at about 1 per cent of the chaotic signal's amplitude.
